Midway Truckstop

History

Patrick and Hylda Calcutt decided that because people always need to eat, opened the Midway to provide a range of simple, top quality traditional dishes at very reasonable prices in a pleasant friendly, environment.

Daughter Lynda and her husband Geoffrey had a good reputation for running eating-out pubs in London. After a couple of years we were finding the work too much for us and asked them to join us.

Son Philip gave up his garage business in High Wycombe to move up and help us. His practical knowledge and capacity for hard work resulted in a major overhaul of all equipment and buildings.

An extension to provide a 50% increase in cafe space, store rooms, cloakrooms and further upgrading of toilets and shower rooms soon followed with Philip doing almost all the work.
